Hello, friends! I hope you are enjoying Party Ensembles Week! I’m so excited to be sharing one of the sets I created for this luscious book. I actually had the idea for a Recipe Swap Party in my idea journal from a couple years ago, so I was super thrilled when the concept was approved for Party Ensembles.
If you follow my personal blog at all, you know I am a huge party planner. Just about any occasion is fair game. So, the notion of getting together with a group of friends, eating and trading recipes for future eating seems like a win/win to me! The biggest challenge in creating the party was how to organize the actual recipe cards. I decided to make up simple blank cards that I could send to each guest ahead of time; I also wanted them to be flat for easy mailing. The party favors, menu, and door prize are also pretty simple. The cheerful color scheme of teal and coral makes the whole ensemble sweet with a dash of modern: exactly what I was aiming for.

Savory Recipe Swap by Kim Kesti
I thought it would be fun to make a little add-on for my Recipe Swap Party. I plan on asking several friends to bring food to share for dinner, so I wanted to give them a little “thank you” treat to take home.

I picked up these plain white tins to coordinate with the white recipe box in my ensemble. Adding a touch of color to the chocolate covered pretzels was as easy as melting candy coating and drizzling it on top of the pretzels.

(Um, not sure why they look so orange! They are MUCH peachier in real life.)
For the top, I simple layered two die cut circles with a little ric rac trim and stamped my sentiment in coral. Easy, fun and sweet; just my style.

I hope you have enjoyed this sneak peek of my party ensemble. Let me assure you, this barely scratches the surface of this big, fat, wonderful book!
I think it’s entirely appropriate that you get the chance to win a free copy, don’t you? Just leave me a comment about your favorite party from your childhood, and I will enter you to win Party Ensembles! All comments must be received by Friday, March 2nd at 5 pm MST. Good luck, and don’t forget to check out the Party Ensembles celebration over at the Moxie Fab World!
P.S. If you want some more party inspiration, check out my daughter’s Teddy Bear Birthday Party on my blog! I’ve been saving these photos, so please join me!

A surprise party thrown by my parents that hosted all of my friends and family… about 9 large tables full. As a small kid, I felt pretty darn special having so many people looking at me
Love the whole set. Great colors for spring, and the pretzels look yummy!
My favorite childhood parties were the 4th of July parties my family had. They were always alot of fun.
I love the magazine.
What an awesome idea book!
Wow! This looks like such a fab idea! I can’t wait to try it out! My favourite party from when I was little was my 10th birthday party… it coincided with Easter, so we had an Easter egg hunt all over the farm with cute little rhyming riddles (made up by my parents) sending us kids running all over the place!
It was so much fun!

Absolutely so excited about this book! Creating everything to match just pulls everything together! Thanks for the opportunity to enter the contest!
I absolutely love your blog and would LOVE to win this book so I can continue with parties! I’m going to start doing parties for kids who wouldn’t be able to have one otherwise and this would be a great help! Thanks for all of the ideas!
Having a house warming with my lovely roommates (cat included)! These would be of great use to really turn the party out. The festive spring colors would be perfect for the event, since it’s half indoor half outdoor.
hmmm, the only party I really remember is my parents having a Super Bowl Party when the Bears beat the Patriots!
