Dearest readers, it’s Friday! And the weekend is almost here. Hooray! But in the meantime, here’s a fun idea.
One of the most popular things I am seeing right now is washi tape. At CHA, it seemed to meet me at every turn. I cannot lie; I think it’s pretty fun stuff, so I wanted to show you something I did with washi tape—washi tape flowers!
It’s easy, and I will show you how to make them. For these, I used washi tape from American Crafts.
Pull out a long strip of tape and fold each bit a little more on one side than on the other so that it starts to form a circle.
Continue until you have a full circle, and then keep going as you make a smaller circle inside the outer circle.
When you are done, add a bead, button, or other small embellishment to the middle of the flower, and there you go! Your own fun, inexpensive, and handmade flower embellishment. Take a look at what I have done with mine!

On these I used clear buttons and black embroidery thread.

And on this one, I just used a small pearl as the center.
For both cards, I used Lawn Fawn’s new Flutter By stamp set.
Would you like to win some washi tape and this stamp set? Leave me a comment telling me how you like to use washi tape, and one of you will win some decorative tape from Bazzill Basics Paper as well as the Flutter By stamp set.
All comments must be received by Tuesday, April 3rd at 5 pm MST.
Best of luck!
P.S. Don’t forget to watch your back and expect the unexpected this Sunday. It’s April Fool’s Day!

I’ve seen this tape around and would love to play with some. Your flowers are adorable and look so easy to make!
Love the new Lawn Fawn sets!
I don’t have any washi tape yet, but I’d love to win some so I can tell you what I did use it for (hint, hint)! I’ve been wanting to try using washi tape for a while now, but haven’t found the right pattern for me. I was going to check out the stores on-line, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. Thanks for another idea! I love the Lawn Fawn stamp set too!
I haven’t yet used washi tape, but would sure like to. I’d probably use it a lot for borders. I like that stamp set too!
OOOOOOOOOh I love the look of the new Bazzill tape! It is so so pretty! I love using washi tape like regular tape… to stick things down, on the tops or corners of photos, or as a decorative element around my LOs.
This is probably the coolest Lawn Fawn set I have seen yet, I would love to have this one! Also love the washi tape, great idea for the flowers! Thanks for sharing!

I just purchased some SEI washi tape, but haven’t played with it yet due to lack of ideas! But I love your flowers! I will have to start playing around!

I have never used washi tape, and actually have never heard of it. I will definately be trying it out now, thanks for the ideas!
I love the flowers you made. Washi tape looks so great in snips on projects. I had no idea that it could be used in such creative ways. I would love to use some washi with that gorgeous lawn Fawn set.
I love adding borders to photos with washi tape!!
I’ve only used it as decorative tape! I haven’t played around enought to come up with some fun, unique ideas.

I found some washi tape at Scrapfest last year…love it. Use it on cards mostly but on some layouts too. Love Lawn Fawn stamps too!
