When the team at Doodlebug Designs invited us to their creative space to make some cards while our Paper Crafts Go-to Gals were in town for our annual editorial board meetings, we said “yes please!” and wedged a few extra hours into our agenda.
It turned out to be just what we needed to end our day, because you can’t help but be happy when you walk through the doors of the Doodlebug office. Their passion for color and design are reflected in the pink, purple, orange, turquoise, and apple green walls with furniture and accessories to mix and match.
After looking in every delightful corner of the office, we settled into the creative studio area to get crafty. I recall a collective gasp when owners Cynthea and Tonya rolled the entire Create-a-Card display out and told us to get busy, and get busy we did! There were cards, cards, and more cards to be made.
With 8 different style card bases in 8 different colors plus sentiments, embellishments, and all sorts of Doodlebug fun to add to them, it was easy to jump right in.
Cynthea and Tonya cheered us on, and gave us some fun ideas for using all the coordinating elements of their color-matched collections. At the end of our creative time with them, we each had created quite a few cards.
We had always seen the Create-a-Card system at CHA trade shows in the Doodlebug booth, but playing with it first hand made us all true believers. So, with cards in hand and a happy skip in our step, we said a huge thank you to our hostesses and were on our way.
Our sincerest thanks to our friends at Doodlebug Designs for making us feel welcome and providing a much-needed creative break in our editorial board meeting week!
