I know I must start sounding like a broken record after a while, but after nearly seven years as an editor at Paper Crafts magazine, I am still in awe of the incredible inspiration we offer you, our dear readers, issue after issue after issue.

I mean, did you see the beautiful ideas Go-to Gal Windy Robinson offered in our Paper Crafts 101 column on pages 88-89 of the March/April issue?

6872003291 0469f50fe9 Paper Crafts 101: Its All About the DIYWith nine ways to create moxie fab DIY Flowers and two coordinating projects, how can you not come away inspired to try even a couple? I mean, the instructions for how to create each different flower are right below each image. It’s as simple as D. I. Y. 1. 2. 3.

Here are some of my favies:

Punch multiple flowers from a recycled bag and crumple.

Poof! Just like that, four fun approaches to creating your own fabulous flowers! And just think, there are 5 more for you to try. You can find them on page 88.

Another thing I love about our PC 101 column is that we always show you how to incorporate the techniques in two additional projects. Note that in this gorgeous album, Windy has combined two of the techniques I just showed you to create the focal point flower.

Are you as in love with this—and Windy, for that matter—as I am?

What’s more, this DIY Flowers column could equally inspire you to come up with a project for the DIY Embellishments Challenge in celebration of Practical Solutions for Paper Crafters Week in the Moxie Fab World. Click here for that challenge, and click here and scroll for the other four companion challenges. I’d moxie love for you to join us! (You have until Monday, April 9.)

Which of these techniques are you most likely to try and why? Leave me a comment by Monday, April 9th at 5 pm MST, and Holly will draw one lucky winner to receive the supah fun Floral Lane collection from Pebbles.

I’m all about the DIY,

~Cath

P.S. Make sure to check back with us at 10 am MST. We will announce our winning entries in the birthday category for Stamping Royalty!

The fabric wrapped rose, because fabric flowers are so hot right now.

Probably the medallion flower (still have not tried this, what am I waiting for?) and the wrapped rose (I have tried this one but without the knot, but have never used it). Great looking flowers. Thank you for sharing!

  3. I love the die cut flower with the rolled petals! So pretty!

  4. Helen LeBrett says:

I’ve tried the medallion flower and the paper bag flower and the rolled flower petals, but I still need to try the fabric flower!!

I love the recycled flower, now off to find a paper bag!

i like the medallion look and will definitely give this one a try.

  14. Angie Hall says:

I tried the circle punch stacked flower. I use some pages from an old book sometimes. I use the curving under technique too for flower pedals and leaves. Still working on the medallion flowers. I have trouble getting them to stay together. The rolled roses look like fun. Maybe that’s next for me.

  15. I love making the wrapped flowers, using ribbons and zippers the most. I haven’t tried the rosettes yet, so will probably give that a go next. :)

  16. Noreen says:

I like the rosette flower, and the die cut flower with the petals curled under. It’s nice that most of the flowers are pretty easy and quick to do.

  17. Sarah McDaniel says:

I tried the medallion flower once and it didn’t turn out very well so I will probably try that again because I love the way they look. I will also probably try the die cut flowers because I can use my cricut for that so it should be a quick fix for a card.

  18. Francine says:

I will most likely try the multiple layers/crumpled look. I really like the carefree feel of that technique.

  19. Svetlana V says:

I love medalions!! never did them but need to do :)

I would try them all since I love to try new things.

I like the paper bag flower.

  25. Linda says:

The flowers take me back to my childhood, where we learned to create with what was avail. Thanks for the memories, and the spark of yesteryear forgotten.

  26. Charlene Paxton says:

I think I will try the medallion flower and paper bag flower.
