I don’t know about you, but I’m a pretty big fan of Pinterest. Not only can I collect in one spot all the things that I am thinking about buying, things that inspire me, DIY ideas for crafts, recipes I would like to try, and fun quotes or pictures, but it also gives me a pretty good look into trends. (If you want to follow Paper Crafts‘s Pinterest, click here.)
So what I want to share with you today are some popular colors I have been seeing not only on Pinterest but all over the place! So here we go!
Colors:
General colors:
Neons. These bright, vibrant color have a synthetic and retro feel. They’re very fun, upbeat, and 80′s chic. These colors go well with retro motifs like boom boxes.
Pastels. These are just as fun as neons to me, but softer and gentler. Much more calm and feminine. These pair well with soft icons like flowers.
Specific colors:
Soft colors:
Mint. Mint is the most popular color I am seeing right now. Buy yourself a pair of mint skinny jeans, and you’ll be right on trend! Pair it with a soft pink top and bam! You’re the new fashionista in town!
Grey. Grey is a very popular neutral right now, especially the lighter, whiter grey. It fits in well with pastels, and I’d say it’s currently most popular as a wedding color. I’m also seeing it included in animal prints.
Pastel pink/peach. This may be a pretty seasonal springy color, but for now, it’s pretty popular. Like I said before, pair it with mint, and you’re right on! It’s very feminine and works quite well with floral prints as well.
Bright colors:
Royal blue. What a fun color this is! And guess what? It’s on the cover of our Color Inspiration special issue! It’s a cool, punchy color that I’ve seen a lot when it comes to clothing too. Royal blue looks really nice in an analogous color scheme (colors by each other on the color wheel), so it looks particularly nice with a softer blue, like a light teal color.
Bright orange. Susan R. Opel will like this one! Bright orange is a fun, exuberant color that is very striking, and has a very modern feel when paired with black or woodgrain. It also is a fun mix with the neon greenish yellow below or royal blue above!
Neon greenish yellow. This is probably the punchiest of them yet! Hello, yellow! It’s so bright, spunky, and fun. If you wore it, you wouldn’t be able to resist feeling light-hearted and if you got a card in this color, I’m sure instant cheer would fill your heart.
Have you been seeing these colors too? Now tell me, which colors do you like the best? Which ones do you use or see yourself using soon? Comment below answering at least one of these questions, and I will pick one random commenter to win a 6×6 pad of Dear Lizzy’s Neapolitan collection and some ribbon to go along with it. (Great examples of the soft colors I mentioned above!)
All comments must be received by April 24th at 5 pm MDT. Good luck!
Thanks for checking in!

I think I tend to use more of the bold and bright, but maybe not the neon bright!
Love bright colors, but Neon will need to grow on me! Love love love mint.
I am loving the soft pastel colors! I saw quite a few of them this past weekend at a crop.
I love all kinds of colors!! I love using them in my cardmaking!
I love all things pink, so the pastel pink is nice, but any shade right up to hot pink does it for me!
I love the mint, happy to use most all these colors but rarely use the neons!
Right now I’m fond of softer coolers – the mint and gray you have shown would look great together!
i’m not really into neon or pastels but the soft mint and grey are lovely and that royal blue!
Those are yummy colors. Thanks
I love pastels and especially like the mint and grey you featured. I have also been enjoying greens and noticed lime green is very trendy with teenagers at the moment. However neon yellow/green is a bit much for me – flouro colours remind me of the 1980′s when I was a teenager and I am not sure I want to go back there! lol
I have noticed a lot of blue-from vibrant brights to softest pastels. My taste is all over the place when it comes to color. Right now, my favorite is pale aqua, especially paired up with kraft and white.
Grey is my color right now…I love it!! It seems like every page I made lately has some sort of grey shade somewhere on it.

I have been enjoying the look of gray to compliment other colors, great neutral color!
I’ve been using gray much more these days, and loving it! Thanks for the chance!
I’ve liked the trend of gray with another color, particularly gray and yellow this past year. I think the pastels would be my choice over the brights/neons.
I love green, so the Mint color is my favorite out of all those displayed. I do love the Dear Lizzy set, too!
I love all the colors you showed, well I love all colors period!! The bright orange is one of my favorite and I just used it on Saturday to make a birthday card, which was my friend loved. I will be using the neon greenish yellow also, as I just picked some paper up with this color in it (along with other neon colors), very soon! Also I just love Pinterest!
I love the mint and grey
Sharon, now I really want a mint Vespa! You make it sounds magical.

oh i so love the bright colors…they are so pretty…
I’m not a fan of neon colors, but I love the pastels – especially the Mint
I love love love the bright orange!!! I’ve even been buying some shirts with that wonderful color this spring!!
I really like the neons. i do use these colors!
Hubby and I have been watching “Get Smart” on DVD and Agent 99 wears all those bright neonish colors plus some wild patterns. I may try an Agent 99 inspired card.
Funny you should ask! I’m working on a travel album and am using these bright colors to reflect colors we observed in the Florida Keys.
The neon greenish yellow is going to be all over my pages soon as my teen daughter is just starting her fast pitch season with a team uniform of this color. I might need to wear shades…
I’m loving grey right now as well as soft colors, especially aqua!
