It may still be May, but Father’s Day is coming soon, and the last thing I want is for it to catch you unawares! Don’t forget to make a card for dad! After all, what would we do without our fathers, grandfathers, or other father figures?
I’m glad we have a holiday for our dads so they can finally get the appreciation they deserve!
So I’m going to show you a few dad-appropriate cards to hopefully inspire you in your own creations for Father’s Day (which is June 17th by the way).
First, we have this fun Father’s Day card by Sarah J. Moerman.

So tell me, what makes your dad special? I’ll tell you a little about mine! My dad is a good man. He works hard, he’s a great storyteller, surprisingly good at ping pong, a handyman, a train enthusiast, and a great person to go to for sound advice.
Leave me a comment about your old man and one of you will win this new collection—Family Man by Echo Park Paper Co. With icons like tools, ties, a grill, fish, a motorcycle, and even bacon, you’re sure to find something perfect for your own dad!
All comments must be received by Monday, June 4th at 5 pm MDT.
Thanks for checking in!

My father is a retired police officer and was also in the military. He is a tough guy but deep down he is really a softy – I’m just not allowed to let anyone else know that!
I have to say that I love love love my Heavenly Father:) I love telling him “Happy Father’s Day”–I’m so thankful that He is my Father:)
I also love my “earthly” father–he always said I was his favorite daughter. I believed him until about middle school! I realized I was his only daughter:) LOL!
My Dad’s nickname was “Big Al”. He passed away in 2003, but I still have fond memories of his many practical jokes and funny antics to keep me laughing and smiling when I think of him.
I have a father that is tough as nails. He’s retired military and currently battling 3 types of cancers. But through it all he’s happy as can be and the best role model any girl could ever hope to have in a father…..I’m blessed to call him mine.
My dad was strength, determination, fairness, friendliness, and always there. Unfortunately I lost this amazing man last year right before Father’s Day…..miss him very much, but I know I married my DH because I saw many of these same qualities. He’s a wonderful husband and father for our boys!!
My Dad is a great storyteller, but what I find fascinating is that every time he tells someone a story about his past (and that’s quite often) I hear something new that I never knew about him before – could be a place he once lived or just some crazy story about some adventure he had. I also love that when he comes to visit I always find him looking around my craft studio at my cards that I’ve made. I did hide my father’s day card that he’s getting before he got here today
My dad is such a trooper! He has been through so many medical challenges but has such a positive attitude. He is the man I have always looked up to for direction in my life.
Instead of writing about my dad I am going to write to you about my children’s dad! He’s always there for his kids. He works strange hours but when he is home he is there for them. Now that they are a teen and tween he continues to search for ways to stay connected to them. At a drop of a hat he will take our son backpacking. He Swings, takes walks with our daughter and kicks the ball around with her. He plans the BEST vacations even if they are STAYCATIONS. We don’t have a lot but with what we have he makes the most of it. He is a great dad!
My father has Alzheimer’s and is slipping away. We treasure the moments we have. He has always loved music, and continues to sing and play the piano every day.
One of the best things I learned from my dad was to be generous. I don’t ever remember going out for dinner with another family where my dad didn’t wrestle if necessary to get the cheque!
my dad took care of us in an era where dads didn’t change diapers, cuddle, feed, etc. he is a great dad but getting older by the minute. i find it so hard to watch him slide down that slippery slope but i don’t love him any less. ruth
My father has been gone now for several years, and I still miss him. So, now my “old man” and I will be together 21 years this fall, and I’m glad to have him still around after all these years.
My Dad calls me every Saturday morning while he waits for his breakfast to arrive at one of his favorite restaurants. He also woofs to his ‘granddogs’ and clucks to his ‘grandchickens’. It starts the weekend off with a big smile.
My dad took me to my first baseball game when I was 12 and I remember everything about that day like it was yesterday instead of nearly 30 years ago! I cherish my love of baseball and cherish my dad for giving it to me!
