Starting today, Open Auditions begins for Gallery Idol, season six! The theme for the Open Auditions round is encouragement cards. You may upload multiple encouragement-themed cards. Just remember that only one card will get you into the competition.
Once we pick our Top 20, these finalists will participate in weekly challenges where the online viewers will vote for their favorite entry. From the Top 20, we’ll narrow the competition to 15 finalists to 10 to five and finally to our grand prize winner. Shall I spill the beans on our AMAZING GRAND PRIZE?
This year we’re excited to provide our grand prize winner with a trip to a 2012 Creating Keepsakes scrapbook convention! From Seattle to Jacksonville and Chicago to San Marcos (with many more in between!), the lucky winner will get to choose from a dozen fun locations with class fees, airfare, hotel, and even spending money as part of the $1,000 prize package. In addition to the trip, there will also be a collection of Fiskars tools for the lucky winner.
But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves! First, you’ll have to make it through the first round! We will choose twenty winners who will continue on to compete for the grand prize. The twenty winners for the first round of Gallery Idol will win a copy of Card Creations: Vol. 10, ribbon from American Crafts, and stamps and ink from Hero Arts!
All other rounds’ prizes will be announced as each round begins, but trust me, they’re worth it! You’ll want to play in this contest!

To participate, post your original designs here between now and May 28th. On Friday June 1st, we’ll announce the top 20 finalists and the next round’s theme. Before you decide to participate, please review our timeline and full rules to make sure you can meet the scheduled requirements. Season six is open to all players (yes, even our international friends) and contestants from previous Gallery Idol competitions, except for the 2011 grand prize winner.

Just a quick question… do our cards have to be brand new (never seen on our blogs) or can they be ones that we have already shared?
This is so super exciting! I saw the teaser post on Friday and began making my card over the weekend. All I need is to take a pic and upload! Whooo Hooo Thanks for this incredible opportunity

Stephanie and Audrey, for the Open Auditions round they can be pre-made/already posted cards. Once we get into the voting rounds, they have to be brand new cards.
Do they have to be cards or can they be 3D projects like boxes and bags? I read the rules but didn’t see it specified. Thanks

My question is, can you use retired product for the cards, or must everything be current? Stamps, paper etc…
