May 22nd is a day to celebrate many things. For instance today it’s National Vanilla Pudding Day, International Day for Biological Diversity, National Maritime Day, and Swamp Monster Day. And did you know that the first episode of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, starring Fred Rogers, debuted on public television on May 22, 1967? Yep, 45 years ago today!
But right here in our office, we are fêting our birthday girl, Managing Editor Kerri Miller!
She came to us from the corporate world, but now she is all ours, and we couldn’t be happier. If you wonder what a managing editor does, it’s all about keeping everything under control, and she does it well. I’ve learned a lot of spreadsheet tricks from her expertise.
This girl seriously loves Disney. Look at that grin on her face!
And Kerri is oh-so-sporty—so sporty in fact that I’ve dubbed her Sporty Spice. On Mondays I’ll talk about my weekend filled with making cards, and what did she do? Oh, just rode her bike up Emigration Canyon with her husband. No sweat. Last spring Kerri participated in the Dirty Dash (see bottom left photo below) with a few of her friends. Yeah, running and slopping around in mud until you’re covered with it. I. Think. I’ll. Pass.
Scenic Utah is a great place to live when you’re a sporty girl!
And Family Kerri juggles a blended family with her hubby Rodney aka Rodzilla—the perfect name for a guy who is 6’6”. Last week she sent her 12-year-old daughter on her first solo airplane ride, and that of course gave her some worried mom moments.
Unbeknownst to Kerri, I roped Rodzilla into giving me a few tidbits about his red-headed darling:
- She claims she lived by Snoop Dogg. Do tell, Kerri!
- She screams on any Lagoon ride. (a nearby amusement park)
- Her hair looks like a lioness in the morning.
- She hates bad breath. Who likes it, I’m wondering?
