With Teacher Appreciation week coming up next week, I thought I’d share some of my favorite teacher cards and projects from the Paper Crafts May/June 2012 issue.
Typically we like to include a grad and teacher section in our May/June issue given the time of year. This year we departed slightly from the teacher rulers and grad hats, to focus on cards and projects with great inspirational quotes. What we got were some wonderful projects with quotes ranging from Nelson Mandela and Ghandi to Shel Silverstein and Conan O’Brien. There is a little something for everyone in this feature. Here are a few of my favorites:

Change the World Card by Sarah J. Moerman
This great card by Sarah J. Moerman can be given to not only a grad but a teacher as well. It’s perfect card to remind our beloved teachers of how important their profession really is.

Light a Fire Card by Carolyn King
Carolyn’s card uses a traditional apple with the Yeats quote to create a very fun and cute card that any teacher would love.

Artistic Child Frame by Cheiron Brandon
The trendy use of crayons as a part of the artwork is so cute. I can see a teacher hanging this in his or her classroom for all to enjoy.
If you haven’t already, pick up a copy of the May/June 2012 Paper Crafts to see more inspirational ideas for teacher gifts. You only have a week left to create something for the teachers in your life, so you better get started!
To get you started with your creating, leave me a comment with your favorite inspirational quote that can be used for a teacher and I’ll pick a winner to receive a school-inspired paper collection from Bo Bunny and a stamp set from Graphic45.
Leave a comment by Thursday, May 3rd at 5 pm MDT, and one of you will win this prize!
Happy creating!

Great projects! Here’s my favorite teacher quote: “All the flowers of tomorrow are in the seeds of today.”
Thanks for these great ideas!
I’m a history teacher, so this quote is especially important to me. “Thought flows in terms of stories — stories about events, stories about people, and stories about intentions and achievements. The best teachers are the best storytellers. We learn in the form of stories.” — Frank Smith. Thanks for the chance to win!
What great projects…love the wall hanging. Teachers really do so much more work than what we see and it truly a good thing to let them know they are appreciated.
Thanks for the chance to win.
Dr. Seuss: “Don’t cry because it’s over; smile because it happened.” (Love this quote!)
My favorite teacher related quote is: “I am not a teacher but an awakener” by Robert Frost.
“A teacher affects eternity:
he can never tell where his influence stops.”
-Henry Adams
Almost 2 1/2 decades later, I still think about my third grade teacher! She was amazing, not just as a teacher, but as a person. Her influence went beyond the books!
We are blessed to have such good teachers in our schools. It is so fun to see my kids just blossom with excitement to learn.
This is an awesome teacher quote: It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.
Albert Einstein
And this is an awesome giveaway!
Wow what a fun way to celebrate education!
Great idea to think slighty out of the box and use worldly quotes. The cards are all so cute!
An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.–Ben Franklin

“A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.”

I like this one and have used it for teacher cards b/c it’s so true, you can teach one person, who teaches another, and if a student becomes a teacher, just think of all the people you’ve influenced!
Ignorance is the curse of God; knowledge is the wing wherewith we fly to heaven. – William Shakespeare.
Leave it to the Bard to put it so beautifully!
I see I’ve repeated, so here’s a new one

Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as a valuable gift and not as a hard duty. – Einstein.
I guess this is why I’m not a teacher!! But now that I think about it, I really would want to be a kindergarten teacher since I love working with children.
While the first two are inspirational, I like the “Every child is an artist” because my son loves to paint and color. Thanks for the chance to win some awesome products.
