With Teacher Appreciation week coming up next week, I thought I’d share some of my favorite teacher cards and projects from the Paper Crafts May/June 2012 issue.
Typically we like to include a grad and teacher section in our May/June issue given the time of year. This year we departed slightly from the teacher rulers and grad hats, to focus on cards and projects with great inspirational quotes. What we got were some wonderful projects with quotes ranging from Nelson Mandela and Ghandi to Shel Silverstein and Conan O’Brien. There is a little something for everyone in this feature. Here are a few of my favorites:
Change the World Card by Sarah J. Moerman
This great card by Sarah J. Moerman can be given to not only a grad but a teacher as well. It’s perfect card to remind our beloved teachers of how important their profession really is.
Light a Fire Card by Carolyn King
Carolyn’s card uses a traditional apple with the Yeats quote to create a very fun and cute card that any teacher would love.
Artistic Child Frame by Cheiron Brandon
The trendy use of crayons as a part of the artwork is so cute. I can see a teacher hanging this in his or her classroom for all to enjoy.

My favorite quote is one I found last year. This May marks my 1 year anniversary of paper crafting!!! I started last May making cards for my children’s teachers. This is the quote I used on the inside of the card: “A teacher affects eternity; he can never

My favorite teacher quote is the Henry Brooks Adams one – A teacher affects eternity. He can never tell where his influence stops. Thanks you for the ideas for teacher gifts – I think I am going to try to make bookmarks with that quote on it for the teachers at the school where I work.

I know I had teachers that truly planted seeds in my head and my heart that bloomed well. It’s a hard discipline, teaching, but definitely well worth it. I am grateful I had them.

What beautiful creations that any teacher would cherish. The quote that “speaks” to me is one from PTI–Teachers affect eternity; they can tell where their influence stops.
My go-to quote/motto is: “What I do is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.” It serves me well and reminds me that each day is important so make the most of it — no matter what I am doing. And I work in a school system so I see this put to good use in classrooms each and every day. Yay, teachers!
