It’s true. And in case you were wondering, May 18th (this very Friday) is Ride Your Bike to Work Day! So if you’ve been thinking about whipping yourself into shape lately or going a little more green, now you have the perfect reason!

I learned to ride a bike when I was young because that was what you did… There were not very many video games or anything. Roofing your bike was the cool thing to do. I taught myself I think!
My big brother came to the rescue and taught me how to ride. He was very patient and ran along side me while keeping me from falling.
Can’t really remember as it was a while back. I now ride 5-6 times a week!
I learned to ride a bike by falling off a lot. It’s fun exercise!
I learned to ride a bike because I live on Mackinac Island, MI where no cars are allowed. Our only transportation is biking or walking. Yes, we do have a firetruck and ambulance but that is all. All goods are delivered by horse on a dray. So building our house here on the island was a huge challenge with no trucks allowed. We now own a bike shop (Mackinac Wheels) which rents and repairs bikes for the thousands of tourists we have here every summer. You should be one of them. Come visit and I will show you my scrap room.
Gee, it’s been so long ago, but, I think I used training wheels at first.

wonderful card! I’ve never tried using bike got not stamps.
But thanks for the chance to win.
Super cute card! I learned to ride a bike i think when i was six. My dad attached a board to the back of the bike. He would run around as we rode while holding on to the board. He would then Let go of the board and i was free riding with no help.
It was such a long time ago that I don’t even remember the first time I rode a bike. As someone mentioned, all of us kids in the neighbourhood rode bikes for many long hours in the summertime to go exploring and finding picnic spots. I love to think about those days.
My parents taught me. First up and down the driveway on a tricycle, then training wheels and then the real deal
I learned how to ride a bike by “borrowing” my older sisters bike when I was 5 years old & made it about 15 feet before crashing.
My Dad taught my sisters and I how to ride our bikes. We were all under 5 when we moved into our one, and only, family home. It had a large unfinished basement. He put us down there with the bikes, and we learned by riding around in circles around the two support poles! We had a blast!
i love bicycles and images; i believe my daddy taught my twin sister and me to ride… . Thanks for a chance to win and have a great day!

My Dad thought it would be a great idea to teach me how to ride my bike by pushing me down the driveway. I was so intent on keeping my balance, I crashed into the car parked across the street and fell and skinned my knee.
My sister and I learned to ride a bike at the same time… so i learned a lot about sharing then too.
My Grand Dad asked me what I wanted for my 8th Grade Graduation and I said, a two wheel bike. He gave me a beautiful blue Schwinn. I don’t really remember who taught me to ride the bike, but I think it was probably my Dad.
I learned to ride a bike as a young kid. All my older siblings were, so I had to too. I remember the big banana seat. I still love to ride bike!
I learned to ride a bike using training wheels but still had to learn how to ride without them too. My parents taught me by having me ride in a grass field next to our house. They have me on video riding right into our fence and right into a rose bush. Ouch!
My first bike was used, battered and had the ugliest training wheels I’ve ever seen. But it worked and my dad taught me. How excited we were to take off the training wheels! We still have old black and white photos of him pushing me to get started when the training wheels came off!
My Uncle Chuck helped me…he held on the bike until my confidence, rhythmn and speed was just right. He let me go and away I went!
I learned to ride a bike with my dad running along beside me, holding onto the seat. Pretty soon he wasn’t even holding on at all, and I’ve never looked back!
adorable card!
I wanted to keep up with my brother & his friends so I was very motivated! My parents showed me how to ride & I practised continually!!
That’s a beautiful bicycle stamp! My dad helped me learn to ride my first two-wheeler.
I learned in my uncle’s front yard (a farm) with him holding on to the back of my bike.
I think my two older brothers taught me to ride my bike! Love this stamp!
What I remember about learning to ride a bike is falling down a lot on the sidewalk! To this day, I have the scars on my knees to prove it!
My dad taught me to ride a bike when I was 6 years old.
Thanks for a chance to win this beautiful bike stamp! I love Inkadinkado stamps!
I have seen this stamp in the store and almost bought it several times! It is such a pretty stamp!
I have never made a bicycle card before, but I would to give it a try with this awsome stamp.
I don’t remember learning to ride a bike, but I do remember teaching both of my kids to ride. I think I will ride my bike to work on Friday – it’s only a mile from my house.
I don’t remember the first time, but I remember my first bike-I thought it was so awesome! Pink with a big banana seat…
I learned to ride a bike from playing with my older brothers and them just giving me a push to start out!
I remember almost running over my cousin because I couldn’t remember how to brake! Love the vintage bike image! Thanks for a chance to win!
My dad helped me learn to ride a bike by holding on while I was looking and letting go when I wasn’t. Plenty of falling down along the way. I had a little woven basket on the front of my bike and a playing card attached to the spokes with a clothespin to make cool sounds as I rode. I recall carrying one of my dad’s expired drivers licenses at one point too. Fun memories. Love that bike stamp!
I wish I remembered!!! It’s a cute stamp anyhow!
My Dad taught us all to ride our bikes and I remember being thrilled when I mastered it. My first ‘big’ bike was purple and silver and I loved it, back then life didn’t seem to be so scary, and me and my sis would head off on our bikes for hours on end with a picnic!
AWESOME!! THANKS for the chance to win!! Have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)
We didn’t have a lot of money growing up, so the first bike my sister and I had was a used “old clunker,” navy blue with ivory pin stripes. We had a small hill in front of our house, and my dad helped me on the bicycle and down the front lawn I went. Did okay until I hit a patch of gravel in the gutter of the street. That was it–no small bike with training wheels. Dad just picked me up and put me back on and away I went again!
Ooooohh, I don’t have this stamp yet! I rode with training wheels for a while but was then too scared to ride with out them, so for a while I would just run along side of the bike while everyone in the neighborhood was riding there bikes including my younger sister.
Eventually I got up enough courage. Thanks for sharing!

My parents bought me my first bike when I was 4. I learned to ride it indoor while nobody was at home. First I tried to balance standing on the pedals one foot at a time. I think I managed to ride it smoothly on my own within 2 hours.
Love the card and stamp! I learned to ride from my two older brothers – one running along on each side of me and the grass as I was afraid of falling! If I win the brothers both need a special thank you bike card! lol thanks!
Learnt very quickly as my older brother shoved me off down a hill – it was balance or crash!!!!
It was so long ago that I cant’ remember how I learned but I do remember that I rode my bike everywhere:-)
I learned to ride a bike when I was about 7. I think my mum (or was it my dad?) taught me. Even though I acquired a second hand bike a year or two ago, I found that it caused my problem knees to flare up. I think stamping bikes would be a better idea.
My dad taught me to ride my bike and I remember that I couldn’t remember how to stop so I would drag my feet (the bike had coaster brakes)! I still love bike riding and would love to win this stamp – thank you so much!
I believe my mom ran along side of me until I got the hang of it! Lots of cuts and scrapes!
I learned to ride by trading my “scarier” big girl bike with my bff’s smaller-sized bike for a summer. My dad started me out in our backyard so if I fell the grass would cushion my fall
Thanks for the trip down memory lane and for the chance to win that sweet bike stamp!
I taught myself on a bike my brother bought for us. It was way too big for me. I could not reach the pedal when it was in the down position. I would stand on a bucket, get onto the seat, push myself off and push the pedal when it was up and let it go when it was down. I stopped by slowing down and jumping off. I loved it! I still ride every chance I get and I’ll never forget that huge bike I learned on!
that is an absolutely gorgeous bike stamp!
what wonderful memories!
my dad taught me to ride my bike, complete with the training wheels. we taught our sons the exact same way….
My dad helped me learn to ride my blue bike that had a wire basket and a squeeze bulb horn on the handlebars. He’d hold me up and run with me until I got the hang of it. It took lots of tries, lots of spills, but eventually I was riding all by myself and enjoying the freedom and the wind in my hair! What a happy memory!
