Matt Anderson

As many of you may already know from past posts, I am a bit of a geek.

Specifically, a Star Wars geek.

I belong to a Star Wars costuming club (The Mandalorian Mercs), I have a ‘starship’ full of toys and action figures, not to mention other collectibles like hats, t-shirts, mugs, trading cards, etc., AND, I design some fun Star Wars-y T-shirts. (Click here to check out my designs!)

Yes, I know, it’s more of an addiction than a hobby, really.

Me at SLC Nerd. SLC Nerd is a community festival event celebrating all that is geeky and nerdy in Utah.

Me and some of my friends at Abravanel Hall with the Utah Symphony: Magical Music Of John Williams event in Salt Lake City, Utah.

But, I just wanted to stop in and post that today is a very special day. Yes, today, May 4th, Is Star Wars Day. “May the 4th be with you!” (Get it?)

Typical festivities consist of inviting fellow Star Wars-obsessed friends to stay over, and then watching the series in succession. Lots of snacks, lightsabers and Star Wars-themed toys improve the atmosphere. Lightsaber fights in the early morning hours? Optional.

Now in honor of this special day, I’m offering up to one lucky winner this Star Wars Collection from Creative Imaginations.

May the 4th be with you!

-Matt

P.S. As I had said I am a geek, and I like geek things, I also wanted to make sure you know that FREE COMIC BOOK DAY is tomorrow, Saturday, May 5th! So get out there, take the kiddos with you, and have a totally geeked-out weekend!

AWESOME!!! It’s amazing to me how many people connect through the Star Wars Universe!! Always brings a smile to my face. Thanks you guys for your comments!! You all ROCK!!

  2. My fav character by far has to be Salacious Crumb!!! I love him! His little laugh when he sits on Jabba is hilarious! My hubby collects vintage Star Wars items, so I know a LOT about it and most of the characters in the movies…like more than a girl should :D BTW, he’d be super jealous to see your costume.

  3. Heather says:

I heard tomorrow was ‘Revenge of the Fifth…’

My son’s a HUGE Star Wars fan too – his favorite character is General Grievous. Mine would have to be Han Solo, primarily for his handsome face. Along those same lines, I like Qui Gon Jin too :)

  4. Goat Girl says:

My favorite Star Warscharacter is Boba Fett! What great photos and such cute paper! Thanks for the chance to win it!

  5. bzyPTmom says:

My whole family are star wars geeks–big time! Every new movie edition that comes out, we have to have–we have it on blue ray to DVD to tapes! Hmm, my favorite character(s) I think are Luke Skywalker, Leah, C3PO and R2D2–I know they are robots! Oh my favorite all time quote is from Yoda–”do or do not-there is no try”.

  6. Robin Tinley says:

My favorite: Those adorable Ewoks. The first trilogy timing was shortly before the birth of each of our kids, so we remember each movie in relation to the child born that year. :-)

  7. I have been a star wars fan since the first Star Wars movie. That was an amazing movie experience that is unmatched to this day just in the sheer hugeness of the story, the production, everything about it. I don’t even remember how many times I saw it, but it was quite a few. I just couldn’t get enough of it. How can I possibly choose a favorite character since I love so many of them. But if I must choose, it has to be Han Solo.

  8. Mara says:

Just a question…when you watch the movies “in succession,” do you watch them in the order that they came out or in the order that they happened? Good question, I think……

  9. Diane Villegas says:

Oh My, I am so into Star Wars, my favorite character is and has always been Hans Solo.

  10. Mary Mac says:

    C3PO all the way.

  11. Mary Lou H says:

R2D2 – I always said his name wrong so I might have done it again.

  12. Sheri E. says:

I think my favorite is R2D2. He looks like my vacuum cleaner! These papers would be great for my friends blog I’m scrapping. She does a Star Wars post from time to time.

  13. Lindsey says:

Chewbacca! This prize package would be awesome for boy cards and creations! :D

  14. see mary stamp says:

As the mother of two now grown sons who were total Star Wars geeks too, May the 4th be with you as well. LOL! I am so using that at my Department meeting this evening!

  15. Kathryn Garner says:

I’ve always been a fan of Han Solo and Chewbacca…I’ve always been a Star Wars fan and now my kids are. Thanks for the chance to win the Star Wars Collection…my boys and I would love it.

  16. littlen says:

my dil is such a star wars geek. i’d love to win this prize for her. my favorite character is yoda.

  17. Lin F says:

While I’m just an average ordinary Star Wars fan, my nephew on the other hand is a huge, over the top, has to have every and anything Star Wars kinda fan. This Star Wars collection would make me a hero in his eyes! I have found very few things Star Wars related in my neck of the woods so when I did find them I scooped them up. Let’s just say that the Star Wars themed graduation card made a bigger hit with him than the IPod that came with the card! His reaction was priceless, wish I had a video of it. This collection of Star Wars would keep him in Star Wars birthday cards for years!

  18. Noreen says:

How fun for you to be able to indulge your love of Star Wars! We have several Star Wars in our family, too. I have two favorite characters, actually: Darth Vader and General Grevious.

  19. Shara says:

i have to admit that I’m not really a star wars fan…but my son is and I have to get these papers to scrap all the pictures I have with him playing star wars.

  20. Emily Keaton says:

Totally fun! We love Star Wars here, too! Hard to narrow down to just *one* fave character, but if forced, I’d have to say R2D2. Who knew that squeaks and whistles could be so expressive?

  21. Denise M says:

Coming from a fellow geek, I totally get it! As it is I am typing this while waiting on line for the Star Tours ride in Disney! Wahoo for star wars weekends!

  22. Susan says:

    I like Yoda!

  23. JJ Bolton says:

I have twin 12 year old boys, so that means I’ve seen the old and new movies many, many times.

From the new movies, I like Qui-gon Jinn and Mace Windu best. From the old movies, it’s Yoda, Darth Vader, and the band at Jabba the Hutt’s;)

  24. Chris E says:

I like a LOT of the Star Wars characters, but one character (and their line) that I really love is Obi-Wan Kenobi. In the original movie (Episode IV, A New Hope), it just kills me when he says to the Stormtrooper, “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for” and does the Jedi mind trick / hand wave thing. My favorite line!

  25. Tara Capewell says:

OMG! apart for me almost wetting myself when i saw that paper collection, how great is your outfit!!! Boba Fett is my hubby fav character in the trilogy. i even have my little lego Boba Fett on my keyring! We had a star wars themed halloween 2 years ago and it was so funny! it was like walking in to a green room of extras from the movies! my daughter dressed as JaJaBinks(my most hated character! his voice…….like nails on chalkboard!) we had many jedi, darth vader, even a death star pinata that i made! and my dad made a stick to hit it look like a light saber!
i would love to scrap this great night!!!!

  26. Angel S. says:

Very fun! Be proud!! I like R2D2!!

  27. Pai says:

    love R2D2!

  28. Emily h says:

My favorite characters are the ewoks!

R2D2. Star Wars is a family thing; from myself to my son to my Grandson!!

  30. AngieB says:

And may the fourth be with you too!!!! I saw it posted on fb this morning!!! I love the original 3 Star Wars….I was a teen when they came out and I just remember all the excitement of watching the wonderful stories unfold!!! Han Solo is my favorite!

  31. cassie l. says:

oh cool! this would be great to win! Our (yes, everyone in our family – me and my two guys) love Boba Fett. He’s cooler than cooL!

  32. charlene says:

Thanks to my 12 year-old son, I know more about SW than I ever thought I needed to. But I still get the troopers confused–clone, storm, scout, etc.–and need guidance occasionally. Love the paper! What kind of car is Luke’s favorite? A toy-yoda! You’re welcome for that. :)

  33. Pam Morganelli says:

This is an awesome post. My favorite has to Yoda. I love the way he phrases everything. I know he’s a muppet, but he’s fantastic.
Thanks for this post. If I win I am going to scrapbook some pictures of my daughter. She’s sixteen and loves Star Wars, too.

  34. Wikolia says:

It would have to be Han Solo but these days my 7 year old son is obsessed with the Clone Wars so I’m learning a lot of new characters!

  35. SmilynStef says:

My great nephew would love some things made with these fun papers … my favorite character was always Yoda.

    My fav is Han Solo!

  40. Char-D says:

My favorite SW character is C3PO. I would love to use these papers to scrap my son when he was little, playing with his Death Star Station.

  41. Mary-Anne V. says:

This is an awesome prize…my two boys are crazy about Star Warss…my fav character has to be C3Po. Thanks for the chance to win.

  42. Jenny Kozar says:

I have always loved Chewbacca – the loyal best friend.

  43. Francine says:

I’m a Star Wars geek, too. lol Back in the day, I could name every single character from the original three (which, in my opinion, are the best and will always be the best of the Star Wars movies). My favorite characters would be THE MAN–Yoda. lol That was one old, wise dude.

Geeks are awesome – I married one – he even works in a comic book store. His favourite Star Wars character is Han Solo but mine is definately R2D2 as I always totally understand what he’s saying without C3PO’s interpretations!

My favorite guy is Yoda! thanks!

  50. Linsey R says:

Whoa! You just may be the ultimate Star Wars geek! And have you heard that geeks are totally hot nowadays! :) Han Solo, hands down. He’s the bomb!
