June is here, and it’s time for some summertime fun! Water-skiing, swimming, camping, hiking, traveling, summer reading programs, lemonade, popsicles, VBS, and slip-n-slides—there’s just SO much to love about this time of year!
One thing I particularly love is the arrival of our July/August issue. Since there are no big holidays or events that occur in those months, this is an issue where we can really explore and play. And wow, this issue is so FUN! Let’s take a look at five great projects from this summer fun issue!

Hey! Card by Jocelyn Olson

Hey! Card by Jocelyn Olson
First up is this punchy superhero-inspired card by Jocelyn Olson. Jocelyn was inspired by one of the two sketches that you’ll see in each issue. I love the energy behind this design!

Let’s Ketchup Card by Annette Witherspoon
A newcomer to our pages, Annette Witherspoon, created this oh-so-cute ketchup bottle card for our Shaped Cards feature. And here’s a secret: I don’t like ketchup, but I LOVE this card. So cute. You’ll find all sorts of summertime icons in this feature—from surfboards to watermelons to crabs and sand castles. It’s so much fun!

Fantastic Day Card by Mary Dawn Quirindongo
As a former middle school and high school teacher, I absolutely love this doodly card by Mary Dawn Quirindongo. It’s part of a back-to-school feature with lots of great ideas to encourage teachers and kids as the new school year opens up in a couple of months!

Vintage Floral Card by Julia Stainton
Playing with paint is our third feature exploring a wide range of clever things that can be done with paint in your paper-crafting pursuits. I love the effect that the crackle paint has on the circle of patterned paper that becomes the substantial focal point of this card by Julia Stainton.

Hi-Ya! Card by Dawn Cosgrove
One of my favorite things about summer is travel, whether by car, plane, train, or boat! I love to see the sites, and that makes our Destination Fun! feature one of my favorites. Dawn Cosgrove takes us to the beach in this adorable summertime card.
This issue is officially on sale today! Find it online by clicking here, in your mailbox, or on the newsstand, and then treat yourself to an afternoon of lemonade and Paper Crafts!
Which card is your favorite? Which feature are you most excited about?

I love the Hey card and am excited about the playing with paint feature!
Received my issue in the mail last week and my favorite card is one that wasn’t shown here. It was a crab shaped card with the phrase “oh snap”. Needless to say I sat down over the weekend and ran with the ‘theme’ and made my own take on it.
These are all wonderful cards! My favourite is probably Annette Witherspoon’s cute and fun ketchup bottle card. I always love Paper Crafts, so I’m looking forward to seeing every feature!!
Love the beach scene Hi-Ya card.
I just received my copy yesterday and it’s really good! I’m loving the ‘shape card’ feature a lot!
Great cards. I love the ketchup one! Very creative!
Aww, why can’t I pin your images any more?
Love Julia’s crackle paint technique.
Have a Fantastic day is precious!
Fabulous cards! I have to say both the “HEY!” and doodle cards caught my eye… and held it.
We have our photos set to private until they appear on the blog and then we manually go in and make them public so that they can be pinned. You can go ahead and pin it now!
Jocelyn, what a cute card! (I also liked the crabby snap card too) and that Let’s Ketchup made me giggle. I love puns!
I can’t wait to get my hands on this issue! I looked for it all over here this past weekend and hope to get to the store tonight to look again! I’ve noticed it hits newstands a bit later here in Winnipeg though….. :>
Awe! Thank you for choosing to feature my ketchup card! So honored to be in the same post with my buddy Jocelyn and one of my paper crafting idols – Julia Stainton!! Susan, I’m glad you were unbiased enough to set aside your disdain for ketchup and choose my card! My DH doesn’t like ketchup either!! LOL!
Oh! I love each and every one of these. The ketchup bottle is the CUTEST!!!! Great job!
Got my copy in the mail on Saturday. What a yummy issue! I really appreciate the way you keep the pages so clean and uncluttered so that the designs can really shine. I loved the technique focus on using paint. Some fantastic ideas there!
The fan on the front cover is adorable! Looking forward to purchasing this issue!
I liked the Hey! card, but the catsup bottle was fun, too!
All of these cards are great – I’ve already downloaded the Ketchup pattern, and look forward to using it soon!
I received my issue last week and I am anxious to try some of the painted card teqniques
I adore that doodly card! I am looking forward to the back-to-school feature for ideas to encourage the teachers and staff at my son’s preschool.
Great fun here! Will have to find the mag and see the rest!
Oh wow!! Thank you SO much for featuring my card on here – I’m so honored! I haven’t gotten my issue in the mail yet, can hardly wait to tear in to it!! PC Rocks!!
