Summer is almost here! I am so excited. I love how the sunshine brings so much cheer to the day. Flowers are blooming, the sky is shining, colors pop, and the days are happy.
Why not bring some of that bright colorful shine to your card making? I can’t think of a better way to do this than with glitter!
So today I thought I would like to share a fun technique for glitter. We are actually going to stamp ON it! Yes, it is possible! The key is to use a micro fine glitter, and the results are spectacular.
Here is an example showing stamping on glitter—a cute little bear:
First I put a piece of Be Creative Tape Sheet (double-sided adhesive) on some white cardstock. I then removed the release paper and added Glitter Ritz Latte Micro Fine Glitter. After burnishing it in place with a bone folder, I ended up with basically a small piece of glitter-covered paper. (And the glitter actually stays put!) On this, I stamped the Paper Smooches bear with Jet Black Ranger Archival Ink and cut it out.
I repeated these steps with a smaller piece and some lighter Sand glitter. I stamped just the nose of bear and cut it out, adhering it to the full bear image.
I finished off the bear with some shading with a Copic Marker and a wiggle eye. (wiggle eyes are such fun!)
And since this bear draws a lot of attention on its own, I kept the rest of the card simple. The note card is embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder and a few fun patterned paper strips were cut from an Amy Tangerine Sketchbook 6×6 Paper Pad. (These papers scream summer!)
