I’m one of those crafters who likes to keep it simple. Sure, lots of crafters like to experiment and get messy and go all out, but I’m not one of them. Fast, easy, and pretty are the name of the game for me! Are any of you with me on that?
At the end of every issue of our magazine, there’s this nifty little time-saving device called Simple Sentiments. Now, I’ve watched people page through our magazine (yes, it’s really quite thrilling!), and invariably, they whip right past this page! Oh, no! Skipping that page is like throwing away precious time. These sentiments are downloadable for free. Yes! FREE DOWNLOADS! And the people rejoiced! Take a look at these snazzy sentiments featured in the July/August 2012 issue.
Quick. Easy. AWESOME!
One great way to use these sentiments is for a quick card. Just add a little bit of patterned paper, ribbon, some border punched cardstock and a rhinestone, and you’ve created a masterpiece in no time flat! I had fun making this card last weekend.

You Nailed it Card by Susan R. Opel
And here’s what’s even better. These Simple Sentiments don’t disappear once the new issue arrives—they’ll be waiting patiently for you online whenever the mood strikes. You can head online right now and find many more Simple Sentiments where these came from dating all the way back to August/September 2008! Or you can follow our Free Card Sentiment Download board on Pinterest to find the perfect sentiment in a JIFFY!
Since I like to keep things simple, I thought I’d share the Beach House collection from Bazzill Basics Paper (which I used on my card) with one person.
All you have to do is leave a comment telling me which one of the July/August sentiments is your favorite, and how you see yourself using it. All comments must be received by Thursday, July 12th at 5 pm MDT.
How simple is that?
P.S. I challenge you! Find a sentiment you like, make a card (or any project), and post it on our Facebook page. We’d love to see what you can do with them!

These are all great sentiments and so many of them I can use. My favourite is the Under the weather…the raindrops can be covered with stickles or gems
I love that cloud with the raindrops. I have the perfect papers to use it with too!
I like the “I miss you” dog sentiment and I would pair it with some stamped paw prints
awwwww. Miss you puppy is so darln. This blog was very informative for me. Thank you. J
Wow, this is hard to choose from but I would say the sympathy statement. It just seems like lately that people are fading away in my life – guess that means life is moving fast and that we must treasure every moment with them.
I like the little cloud with the ‘under the weather’ sentiment.
I like the congrats because of the grey color and the pretty flourish thing at the end.
I like the bulls-eye and the Merci. I have a huge file of all the sentiments and use them often to make a quick card. Thanks for keeping them coming!
I love them all, but the Merci and ‘under the weather’ sentiments are my favorites!
They’re all just great, but I can see myself using the “When someone you love…..” for getting a stash of sympathy cards made. Lately, it seems I’ve needed them more than others, darn it.
I adore the Happy Birthday sentiment, can see a fabulous masculine card with it and secondly love the memory one as I have that in a rubber stamp as well but the font on this is gorgeous and always love a digital sentiment that I can print right off for a fast card.
Thanks for sharing.
I love Merci & Congratulations.
Love love love the cloud with the under the weather sentiment. I could see using that on a get well card for sure.
I like the under the weather one. So cute.
These are all great. I love the sympathy one…this one is great and would use on a sympathy card.
I love the happy Birthday to you, I could use it in boys cards, with a touch of western, horses, etc.
I downloaded ‘Happy Birthday to You’ thinking that I’ll use it with some western-themed stamps I have.
I love the feeling under the weather sentiment!
I love the Happy Birthday sign–the design and color combo are really fun! Thanks for the chance to win!
I love the “thinking of You” sentiment.
My youngest daughter is very sad that her BFF is moving five hours away at the end of this month. They have been constant companions since they were toddlers. I can see us using the “Miss You” doggie sentiment on cards that we send Ava after she moves.
THANKS for sharing!! I LOVE all of the FUN patterns and the colors!! THANKS for the chance to win and have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)
when some you love becomes a memory
the memory becomes a treasure
How true!
Love the bullseye with the “you nailed it!”
I love the Happy Birthday sentiment: with 28 nieces and nephews I’m always in need of a birthday card!!
I love your card!! I can see myslef using the “sorry you’re feeling under the weather”. I would make up a bunch of these cards so that if someone I know is sick or just sad then I would send them a card to brighten their day!!
I would use the Happy Birthday for the men in my life, or the cute cloud with sparkly gems for the rain!
Thanks for the reminder about these sentiments! I really love the Congratulations one – I like the font, the swirls, and the larger/taller parts. Fabulous sentiment … can’t wait to try it
I love the “You Nailed It” sentiment. It’s something I say ALL the time, so it’s really fun to be able to incorporate it into a card.
I like “When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.”
I think that my favorite is “When someone you love becomes a memory. . .”. It’s always so hard to find a really good sentiment for a sympathy card and I think that this one is a good one.
I’m torn between the cute “miss you” hound dog, and the classy red “merci”. Both would be darling on cards. I love what you did with your “you nailed it” sentiment. Clever!
