I’m not really a Bieber fan, but the song was just too perfect a title to pass up.
You see, one of my best friends announced that she is going to be a mom!
The mom-to-be and me!
Her story is not mine to tell, but trust me when I say this little guy (or girl) is SO wanted, and going to be so, so loved. (And spoiled to death by aunts and aunties! I’m already planning…)
To celebrate, I wanted to make my friend a card. For inspiration, I turned (of course) to our magazines and I found this in our March/April 2012 issue:
Come Fly With Me Card by Meg Craig on p. 43
While not a traditional baby card, my friend has such a vibrant personality it reminded me of her. I, however, do not have a butterfly die, or the patience to cut and emboss the number needed for such a card. (You go Meg!)
I instead turned to Illustrator and created this:
Although I loved the “Come Fly with Me” sentiment (anyone else singing Sinatra?), it didn’t quite explain how I felt. Hopefully she likes it!
