Good morning, crafty friends, and welcome to the Card Design Handbook blog hop!
We’ve been through the four major sections of the issue—composition, balance, style, and color! Are you ready for more?
Today, we are going to link to 10 different designers’ blogs—designers who contributed quite a bit to this magazine. Like we did in the issue, they’re going to show you how to take a card from good to great using a lesson from Card Design Handbook!
Ready for this? Each designer will be offering up a copy of the magazine on their blog, so make sure to check out all the blogs and enter yourself to win! But also make sure you come back here after, as we have our own fun giveaway!
And we’re off!

Did you visit them all? Great!

Comment below telling me which principle you’re most excited to start working with for a chance to win a copy of Card Design Handbook, paper, stickers, and embellishments from Glitz, a border punch from Fiskars, and stamp sets from American Crafts, Studio Calico, My Time Made Easy, and Close to My Heart! Three winners will take home the prize shown below!
And one of these three will be chosen to take home the original My Digital Studio from Stampin’ Up!—perfect for you to practice your newfound card design skills.

Thanks for checking in, and good luck!

Thanks for the fun hop! I need to work more on movement.
I love all the tips and want to try them all! My first one will the white space tip. Thank you for the chance to win a wonderful prize!
I always like to try something new in creating cards. It takes me a while to figure out what my design is going to be, but by the end of the process, I love it all. Thanks for sharing your design tips and for the chance to win a prize.
Alot of inspiration in this book. I think I am a shabby/chic kind of girl now.
I really have trouble with White space. That’s a generous prize bundle. Thanks
I have trouble with white space, I always think it looks too “empty” and that there should be something more, but your tips really helped.
The rule of Asymmetry I am most excited to try (I really loved Angeline Yong Jeet Leen’s example), but I am also keen to try out the rule of thirds a bit more obviously (like the example by Kalyn Kepner). Thanks for the chance to win.
WOW! Everyone did such an amazing job! I really would like to try asymmetry in a card. Thanks for a chance to win. You guys are so generous!
It has been a great week with fab tutorials and a great blog hop. Thanks for the opportunity to win this super giveaway.
Have a great week
Hmm. i could improve in all area. I think balance is what I need to work on the most.
I have learned so much! Just hope I can remember it all! Looking forward to making much better cards. Wonderful Blog Hop!
i really like the rule of thirds! loved them all! thanks for hosting blog hop!
I want to incorporate more asymmetry. I like things neat and symmetrical, so this is a hard thing for me to do, but I sure do love the way it looks on other cards!
I want to start with the rule of thirds. All of the projects were great!!
I really want to work on “white space” and the rule of “Asymmetry”. This one fascinates me. Thanks for sharing this fabulous hop. It just might be my favorite hop I have ever done. I loved seeing all the tips laid out side by side!
Fun blog hop! I’m the most excited to work with movement.
What a great blog hop! Thanks for the chance to win
Wow, what great techniques! I think I am most excited to start working with the “movement/flow” principle, I definitely need work in that area! Thanks for all the inspiration!
Wow, what a fantastic and informative blog hop! I need to experiment more and “play” with ALL these design principles.
Thank you so much for all the great lessons! They were all great but I think I’ll try the asymmetrical lesson first.
Thank you Paper Crafts for putting together a great blog hop & contest and for publishing exceptional magazines and periodicals.

I have this issue and I just love it! The rule of thirds is something I’m excited to incorporate into my cards.
Made the hop! Loved all the different cards and their variations. How clever. I think I’m going to try the asymmetrical style first. It will be a true challenge for me!
White space can be very enlightening – just like emptiness is essential to spiritual connectedness!
More white space for me! Thanks for the tips/blog hop and chance to win goodies.
I am a Shabby/Chic girl with some Vintage thrown in so I have a HARD time with white space!! I always feel that it doesn’t look finished!! So when I see cards with LOTS of it I wish I could create that way!! THANKS for all of the FUN INSPIRATION and for the chances to win!! =) Have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)
This has been a fabulous week! I want to start with balance…I tend to be a symmetrical person, but asymmetrical sounds like a fun challenge!
Boy that’s a tough one to pick only one because I need more practice implementing all of these tips. So I guess I’ll have to choose more white space and more often. I had a death in family this week and had to create some sympathy cards. I kept making them layered and complicated, and thought, I’ve just got to keep this simple. So I applied this principle and did one simple stamping flower bunch and one sentiment in black and it came out so much more classy, which was more appropriate for the sympathy cards. thank you
Thanks for the awesome blog hop! Design is so much fun to study and learn about, so I think that I will start with balance. Something that I seem to struggle with. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
I would love to try making cards with more asymmetry!
I am really intrigued by the concept of playing with the white, or negative, space in my cards and crafts! It is making me look at my projects in a whole new way!! How inspiring!
thanks for the chance to win, what a great prize pack!

Fantastic blog hop! I visually learned so much! I’m really excited about the asymmetrical principle! Thanks for the chance to win
Thanks for all of the tips! I would love to do more asymmetrical cards and using more negative spaces!
All of the tips are great, but I have to say that I need to work on my comfort zone with white space. I tend to overdo sometimes and need to remember to leave myself some “breathing room!”
I think I need to work on experimenting with colour. Thanks for the great prize pack.
I think balance is at the core of good design!
I’d like to work on using movement in my cards. Thanks to the bloggers for all their good to great examples!
I love working with style and balance.
