Hello everyone! So let’s talk duct tape today.

Now that I’m doing my back-to-school shopping, it seems like everywhere I go there is a vast array of colored and patterned duct tape. Have you noticed it?

If you have a teenager at home, you may already be the proud owner of several rolls of this brightly colored or patterned tape. It’s fun to see kids crafting away! Most of the girls in our neighborhood are sporting duct tape in anything from hair accessories to cell phone cases.  And it’s all hand made, which is totally cool!

Have you tried crafting with duct tape? With two daughters at home I couldn’t resist buying a couple of rolls the first time I spotted it at the grocery store and they encouraged me to put it to good use on this notepad that I created for Practical Solutions for Card Makers.

Playing with duct tape is actually a lot of fun and much easier than I imagined.

Want to see how easy it is to create one of these flowers?

1. Start with a piece of duct tape that measures anywhere from 1 1/2’ to about 3’ long.  Fold it over so that 1/3 of the sticky adhesive is showing along the bottom of the tape.

Being that the start of school is right around the corner, I decided to add these flowers to a few more notebooks to use as gifts for my daughters’ new teachers.

    Hey everyone!

Please check out our line of Platypus Designer Duct Tape. The patterns are all seamless to make aligning easy. The designs are more sophisticated, transcending typical duct tape uses, and the matte finish is very smooth and doesn’t look like regular duct tape.

So glad I stumbled across this page!

    Hi Windy
I just found this tutorial and I was wondering how (if) you covered the inside cover pages as well and if so, how did you cover them?
I don’t like the not so pretty insides and need to cover them up also.
Thanks for your response and I love all your cards and posts.
