Groovin’ with the Go-to Gals: Being a Good Neighbor

It’s another fun “holiday” today: Good Neighbor Day. I think nontraditional holidays are tailor made for paper crafters. It gives us that little nudge to do something nice.

A few weeks ago my husband and I tried our hand at canning cherries. The end of summer price on cherries was fantastic and we couldn’t resist preserving a few quarts for the mid-winter blues. I thought it would be fun to share a few jars, and what better day than “Good Neighbor Day”?

The addition of a few Pebbles Walnut Grove stickers and a ribbon bow were all this special treat needed. (I wish you could see the cherries in real life, so gorgeous).

So, what would you make to treat a special neighbor? Some homemade banana bread? How about granola or trail mix? So many fun ideas.

Have a great “Good Neighbor Day”!

Smiles!

Beautiful way to present this gift. Still have zucchini in the garden so I think zucchini bread would be a great neighbor treat.

    Very nice decorated gift jars.
It is usually banana loaf that gets made for sharing. I always seem to have banana’s that need to be used up!

Very cute and neighborly – but my idea of simple is no stitching (lol) I admire anyone who can sew on cloth or paper – I even lose patience with my “Sew Easy”!!! Homemade treats are the best and this cute packaging just adds even more love – thanks for the much needed inspiration to get off the computer and get in my crafty space!

This is very cute! We find ourselves sharing produce from our garden very often this time of year! I really cute make things a bit more presentable for sure!

Oh what a great gift idea, Kim! I have some brownies that need wrapping and brought over to my new neighbor’s house….plus I won’t HAVE to eat them all myself ;)

Great idea, Kim. Would love to be your neighbor! Ha! Ha! Really, we have been blessed with absolutely wonderful neighbors for over 35 yrs. We all look out for each other and support each other through tough times and share happy moments in each others’ family lives. I’m not much of a “baker”, but we do share from our garden often. Thanks for the inspiration.

I have a new neighbor who just moved in a couple of weeks ago. She is a sweet lady who works in the trauma unit at the local hospital – crazy schedule – so I’m sure she’ll appreciate a casserole and ‘girl’ chat some evening.
