Around here we get into those crazy little holidays that aren’t really holidays. You know, the ones like National Root Beer Float Day (August 6), National Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor’s Porch Day (August 8), and National Potato Day (August 19). Notice it’s the food-related holidays we seem to celebrate!
Did you know today is National Swap Ideas Day? Since most of our readers are creative people (or aspire to be!), we thought this would be an excellent non-holiday to spotlight. With the internet so accessible, right this very minute, paper crafters like you are swapping ideas, tips, and projects, not to mention meeting new people in this growing paper-crafting community.
Are you in the mood to swap ideas? Here are some fun ways!

I love Pinterest! It’s become my number one go to spot for papercrafting, watercolor painting, home decor, and more!
I have to say I head to a number of different places to be inspired. Since I am a cardmaker, I first head to Splitcoast stampers, Pinterest and blogland. I see so much inspiration all around me too.
I adore searching on pinterest for inspiration, as well as a large number of blogs that I frequent everyday!
I get inspiration from my Papercrafts mags, blogland, and Pinterest! I would LOVE to win that tee and wear it with pride! Thanks for the chance to win!
I am inspired by perusing through papercrafts magazines, various blogs and sometimes a look at cards that I had made a while ago!!!
I get inspiration from blogs & your magazine. Well make your bed day, I’ll do it. Thanks for the chance to win that cool T-shirt.
I always go to my local stamp/scrapbook store for inspiration and ideas. You meet the nicest people there who have the same love as you do and are eager to share ideas.
I go to scrapbooking blogs for inspiration and I probably take every papercrafting magazine out there so that I get inspiration from the mail also. I have many, many of the blogs from the girls you have published in your magazine bookmarked so I never run out of places to find inspiration.
I hop all over at stamping blogs, I also am always looking around on Pintrest. I enjoy papercrafting magazines, too… and when I need some inspiration, I usually pull out my Papercrafts and browse.
I get ideas from all over. Pinterest and my favorite craft blogs top the list, but I am also inspired by card making magazines, too.
I visit Papercrafts Connection and Moxie Fab World at least 3 – 4 times daily; several blogs (at least 15 – 20) that I visit daily as well; my Papercrafts magazine as well as every single special issue that comes out!
I love seeing the trends that pop up in bedding or housewares. I can’t buy them all~but I can draw inspiration from them!
Hi Kelly!
I get ideas from all over the web; Pinterest, blogs, forums, Flickr groups, etc as well as my fave crafty magazine Papercrafts!
Sarah
I get ideas from Pinterest, Flickr, my favorite company blog and Paper Crafts magazine!
oh I am so inspired by Pinterest and Flickr…lots of fun ideas and inspiration…totally love this t-shirt…
My ideas come from Pinterest, searching Google Images based on topics, and my magazines.
I get inspired by looking at others blogs, magazines (you know Paper Crafts is one of them
) and books. Sometimes, my own dreams will inspire me (you could say I have some wierd dreams, at times)!
I am inspired by catalogs, other blogs, and nature – cool leaves, etc!
I get ideas from the Papercrafts blog and magazine, Creating Keepsakes blog and magazine, Moxie fab blog, VisualdesignsbyChris.com, Pazzles craft room, Jennifer McGuire and Tim Holtz blogs. I have to check them out often–and get many wonderful ideas from these sites.
I’m a faithful reader of many blogs and get my ideas there. A good blog hop is hard to beat. I also like Facebook and SCS for fun crafting ideas!
Once a month a group of us (could be up to 9) get together and swap ideas. I usually research the cards but anyone else can bring a make/take if they see something they like or something they’ve made. Magazines and the internet are my best places for ideas for my projects.
I love visiting a variety of scrappy blogs, I also belong to an online crafting community where we share ideas, have challenges, & chats.
My magazines and fellow scrappers are the best places for inspiration and project ideas.
LOL that betty shirt cracks me up!
I share ideas with my other crafting friends.
Pinterest has moved into 1st place behind blogs in my Google Reader, but I also peruse magazines, sales ads and catalogs for great color combinations. So very thankful for all the inspiration so easily attainable. Made my bed everyday so wouldn’t want to chance getting out of the habit by skipping even one day. : ) Thanks for swapping your ideas and the chance to win a betty t-shirt!
I’m going to Pinterest, GTG blogs and my friends whom I appreciate. Thanks for a chance to win this awesome T-shirt!!!
Besides Papercrafts mag and blog I follow certain peoples blogs out there.
Would love to win this adorable shirt. I love the saying!!
When I am not surfing along on Papercrafts Connection or Pinterest, I am following my 2 favorite blogs, “Following the paper trail” with Laura Denison and Jim, the Gentleman Crafter. Then my friends and I get together and share all of the fun things we’ve found!
I use Pinterest, blogs and youtube to learn and get inspired. There is so much sharing in this community. I love it!
So many places! Blogs, Pinterest, Splitcoast Stampers, and of course here and Moxie Fab World! Not to mention crafting with friends!
I used to get all my inspiration from magazines, but now it is more online based. My number 1 is now pinterest, but I do also visit my favourite blogs, and buy magazines from time to time. I also have my own blog, where others can get inspiration from me
Thanks for the chance to win this cool tee!!!
I swap ideas and inspiration with my buddy Terri – she is AMAZING and so very talented! She combines colors and textures and comes up with something way better than I originally imagined. I also browse the Lawn Fawn (shout out to Kelly Marie!) blog ALL the time
And, of course, Paper Crafts Connection blog has a lot of amazing inspiration too. Love you guys!
I’m inspired by the emails I get from over 100 blogs I subscribe to. And of course, Pinterest, Moxie Fab and this blog! I also get lots of ideas from Swap-Bot.com
I am addicted to Pinterest!!
I first and foremost go to my “PaperCraft” magazines! I love everyone of them. I also check out various papercrafting blogs. I also attend local card clubs where we make cards and swap ideas/techniques. Thanks for the chance to win a FAB shirt.
I visit here and that leads me “out there”! There is no lack of inspiration from this starting line! I loved that tee-shirt from the first time I saw it! So pick me please!!! I can change my name to “Betty”!!
Ha! I love this shirt! I go to my local stamp store for inspiration. They always have lots of cards samples up that are always changing. Thanks for sharing.

There are so many inspirational and sharing sites…starting with each new issue of PaperCrafts magazine, tons of blogs and Pinterest.
I hit Splitcoast stampers a lot. Also, I just google an idea then click on images….
I am addicted to Pinterest: fr scrapbooking, general crafts and even recipes !
I love Pinterest and looking through my scrapbook magazines. Always so many great ideas.
I’m always checking out my favorite paper crafting blogs!
I go to a wonderful studio & shop in Harrogate, England called Art From The Heart. There are great workshops & lots of lovely people who are always willing to swap ideas.
When I started this crazy, wonderful hobby, I relied heavily on Splitcoast Stampers and a couple of local SU! ladies who had classe. I’ve since discovered lots of blogs that appeal to my taste and subscribe to them. Then there’s magazines and Pinterest and my LSS which displays cards for class displays or just because the owner made them and put them out to show what’s possible. Blog hops always bring in new ideas and cardmakers to follow. There is no shortage of info and inspiration to be had.
Thanks for chance to win that cute t-shirt, Kelly. I get most of my inspirati0n from Paper Crafts publications and your blog–I love them all.
I LOVE to find inspiration from here on Moxie Fab, Paper Crafts Mag., the Calendar, SCS, Other’s blogs… Gracious, the list goes ON & ON & ON & ON!!!!!!!!! INSPIRATION IS EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU for your inspiration to us ALL!
Blogs, blogs, blogs (only because I can look at them while at work without getting busted) followed by magazines. And ooh, just saw on Facebook about the upcoming holiday cards issue – yay!
