We at Paper Crafts have been dutifully gearing up for World Card Making Day that’s happening this Saturday, October 6th. It’s just the kind of a day we live for around here—a guilt-free day full of patterned paper, stamps, embellishments and ribbons of all kinds. Yes, that’s right—GUILT FREE. So get out your supplies and start crafting.
Don’t forget to enter your amazing creations in the World Card Making Day contest. This year we have compiled a package of over $400 featuring product from 30 different manufacturers. I’ve been storing the product as it has arrived in our office, and let me tell you, there is some fabulousness to be had! We also want to say a big thank you to our 2012 World Card Making Day sponsors. We couldn’t have done this contest without their help! In particular, the 2012 Gold Sponsors, who have gone above and beyond with donating awesome prizes as well as posting inspirational projects on the official World Card Making Day website.
And of course, we can’t give away just one prize for this contest. No way! We are giving away a prize to four winners in each of the five different occasion categories. That’s 4 x 5 = 20 winners!
So as you are making your cards on Saturday, make sure you craft some to enter into at least one of the following occasions:
- Birthday
- Christmas/Season’s Greetings
- Hello/Thinking of You
- Love
- Thank You
Most importantly, attach a sticky note to the back of each of your entries that includes your name, address, daytime phone number, email address, and a detailed description of instructions and supplies used to create the card. Then mail those babies in by October 15th to:

You’ll not be seeing your card again as we send all entries not picked for the prizes onto charitable organizations to use. So if you love your card creation and just can’t part with it, make sure to make two so you can keep one.

I have my instructions printed, my creative thinking cap on, and have written the date on my Dry Erase Board. I am giddy with excitement to play along and want to say THANK YOU for hosting such a wonderful event full of fun and for a great cause. I hope lots of cards pour in to be given out to those who need them most right now!!!! Gonna hop over and give all the sponsors a <3 shout out, too!!!

This will be something new for me to attempt. Thanks for the inspiration.
I made a couple of cards this evening that I think I will send in. I’ve got another idea swirling around in my head so may give another one a try, as well. Looking forward to seeing all the winners in a couple of weeks – the talent always amazes (and humbles) me!
