If you’re a regular reader of our regular issues, then you know all about our column “Dear Go-to Gals,” where a reader will ask a question and our Gals give her sound advice. The question from our current issue is this: what is considered good card design?
That’s Betsy, Windy, Julie, Kim, Jennifer, and Teri‘s cue! They tell her about balance, composition, color combos, white space, movement, anchoring, and cleverly breaking the rules. Plus you get to see their cards that demonstrate all the principles they talk about. In fact, they’re all up on our website, including supplies and instructions! Check ‘em out here!

Maybe you’ll be inspired to try out the principles of good card design. And speaking of card design, make sure to check out the Card Design Handbook!
Thanks for checking in!

When this issue came in the mail, my husband (Yes!! he READS PC) alerted me that I was the lucky one to get this question answered! I am so pleased to see how the go-to girl answered my question with a beautiful card as an example!! Thank you so much!
All of these cards are beautiful! I was drooling over them when my magazine came!
OOOH! I LOVE that card with the candycane strip ribbon!
What great cards.. thanks for all the inspiration everyday.
I like the Go-To Gals section of the magazine and have often wished it were a bit larger. : ) They have great ideas and if you haven’t been to their blogs, make the ‘trip’ because they are all very talented.
The “Go To Gals” are definitely one of my best resources for info and inspiration. It’s wonderful to get help from designers you can trust. Giving visual examples makes the lesson learned stay with me.
