Hi friends!

The editorial team for Paper Crafts magazine is at the winter Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) trade show where manufacturers show us their new products. As much as I enjoy seeing the unveiling of their new designs, I think the biggest thing I walk away with is inspiration.

I love seeing the new colors, like these gorgeous yarns:

Where do you find your inspiration? I’d love to hear as well as how you remind yourself (do you keep a swatch journal, an inspiration book, or just have a great memory).

Have fun creating!

I often create based on a challenge. But the idea for the card takes awhile to come to fruition. Like, when various versions go through my head before I fall asleep. Or while I’m on a walk. And the final result sometimes morphs into something I hadn’t planned anyway!

Definitely Pinterest, magazines, and challenges. I do NOT have a great memory! lol

I find a lot of my inspiration from your magazine & the special issues you put out.

I find inspiration in many ways: I keep a sketch album; I keep an idea journal on my craft room desk and often bring it with me when I’m checking out blogs; and I belong to a card making group and often get ideas and inspiration from the other members. And NO, I don’t have a good memory – thus the need to keep things in journals/albums. : )

Great ideas ladies!! Glad I’m not the only one wondering what happened to my memory!

I get my inspiration from the magazine, special issues, crafty blogs, shopping at craft stores and going to CK convention when it comes to town. Not a great memory, but sometimes “something” hits me and I get an idea for a project–could be a TV commercial, poster or just plants and flowers in my back yard.

    Pinterest for sure! ;)

Seriously, I get my inspiration mostly from Paper Crafts magazine and the blog.

I get a lot of inspiration from my pictures. I like to ‘stage’ my grandchildren sometimes with just the right pose, props or background. LOL I love magazines, blogs, pinterest and the GO TO GALS have lots going on.

I get inspiration by looking around me, definitely going to art and crafts stores is the best place to be for my imagination and creativity!

  12. I get lots of inspiration from your magazine and keep every issue.
I also have a three-ring binder where I keep sketches and notes and samples of cards that inspire me. When I get in a slump, I go through the binder and find an element or color combo that triggers an idea.

I find my inspiration from blogs and magazines such as yours. And I keep track two ways – one in a notebook where I rip the pages from magazines, place in sheet protectors and categorize. For digital pics there’s pintrest.

  14. I get inspiration from other crafters, several design websites, the PC calls, Etsy, Pinterest, typography in stores, online galleries, and the products at my LSS. I keep Pinterest boards, but I also have my own inspiration boards on my computer (card inspiration, design inspiration, colors, and sketches folders).
