Christine Vander Woude
Hello, everyone! My name is Chris Vander Woude, and I’m the founder of Pazzles Creative Cutters. It is a real treat to guest post here on Paper Crafts Connection and share a little bit about myself, my love of paper crafting, and what my company does; maybe I’ll give something away while I’m here!
I have a long history with stamping, die cutting, and paper crafting. It started in the 90′s with rubber stamp demonstrating though I was really, at heart, a scrapbooker. It didn’t take long for that love of all things paper to bubble up to the top. Soon I started designing and making my own paper piecing patterns and selling them at scrapbook conventions. My then-teenaged daughter named my paper piecing business “Pazzles,” short for “paper puzzles.” Pazzles was and still is a family business.
My designs were really popular at shows, but after a few years of success, I realized the days of hand-cut paper piecing would someday end, and I had to find a way to keep going. I needed a fast solution for paper cutting—metal dies were too slow because I made new designs all the time, and laser cutting was out of reach financially. Long story short, my frustration led to my innovating the first electronic die cutter for paper crafters and the launch of Pazzles Creative Cutters.
I debuted the first Creative Cutter at CHA Winter 2004, and ever since then, electronic die cutting has exploded in popularity! At Pazzles, our goal has been to put the creative power in the hands of the crafter, so we’ve strived to make the most capable and flexible cutters we can. We are so proud of our Inspiration Creative Cutter and the top-of-the-line features it has, and I’m happy to show you some of the projects I’ve made. (I just hope you all like glitter, because these projects are a little on the shiny side!)

These Rosette Snowflake tea light covers are gorgeous, glittering gems! I backed double-sided adhesive film with cardstock and then die cut it in the Inspiration before applying super-fine glitter to make the snowflake medallions. These tea light covers were just one example of what you can make with our Rosette Snowflakes WPC, AI, and SVG Cutting Collection. We also made a lovely Snowflake Wreath!

Who doesn’t love dimensional paper projects? I certainly do, and around Pazzles it is considered my specialty! The Pazzles Design Team and I put on our “paper architect” hats to make this lovely Winter Village. We had it out for the holidays, but we left it up as Winter décor in the Pazzles office. Surrounded by fake snow and lit with tea lights, it really is something to see. The Inspiration is fabulous at cutting heavy cardstocks and chipboard. We were able to use the most sturdy materials in our Winter Village so it will keep for years and years.

One last glittery project for you: a sneak peek at this invitation from our upcoming “Party” Cutting File CD! I created a whole series of masquerade-themed paper projects for the CD, from banners to cupcake holders. And masquerade isn’t the only party theme on the CD—there are six more! But they’ll have to be a secret until the actual release date. I’m just bummed that the CD won’t be out in time for Mardi Gras!
But how about we focus on something happy, like a giveaway! (I’m sorry, international folks; this is only for U.S. entrants.) We’ll choose one random commenter to win a Pazzles Inspiration Creative Cutter plus I’ll even throw in a pre-release copy of the Party CD! The Inspiration is regularly $599 and it comes with 6 months of free access to Pazzles Craft Room (an over $100 value). Inside Pazzles Craft Room you’ll have access to thousands of cutting files and hundreds of video tutorials so you can learn to use your new Inspiration Creative Cutter to make your own stamps, cut vinyl, etch glass, engrave plastic and metal, cut pastry, emboss vellum, and so much more!
And today you have a chance at winning it!

Would you like to win?! Leave a comment by Tuesday, February 12th at 5 pm MST! And make sure to check back with us because we announce winners on our Winner Wednesday posts!
Happy Crafting!
~Chris Vander Woude
