Spring is in the air! I have been busy spring cleaning and organizing my home. There’s something about this season that makes me want to give everything a fresh new look.
Have you seen Paper Crafts’ newest special issue called Handmade Home Decor? This inspiring new resource is packed with a wide assortment of clever home decor pieces! Everything is organized by season and gives you ideas to make your home more beautiful all throughout the year.

I decided that it was time my pantry got a makeover. I love that I can use tools and products from my craft room to decorate my home!
I used my Silhouette die-cutting machine and some adhesive vinyl to create labels for each of my glass canisters.

Dressing up your pantry is so easy to do! You can find inexpensive canisters at thrift sales and big box stores. I’ve created a set of labels for you that can be downloaded here.
Here’s a short video on how to use the download along with your Silhouette to cut each of the designs out using adhesive vinyl. (If you would like to create additional labels, download the Mustachio font and use the type tool in the Silhouette software.)
Once you’ve cut out each of your designs, remove the excess vinyl. The Silhouette hook tool is helpful when removing smaller sections.

Apply Silhouette transfer paper over your design. Press across your image using the scraper tool (or other flat object) to make sure there are no wrinkles or bubbles.

Carefully peel back the transfer paper, separating it from the adhesive vinyl backing. Your vinyl design should cling to it. Apply your design onto the canister. Use the scraper tool once again to press over your design.

Carefully peel off the transfer paper and reveal your custom canister!

If you don’t own a Silhouette but would like to dress up your canisters, try using other products from your craft room. Alphabet stickers, stencils, or chalkboard labels would make beautiful substitutions!
Have you started any spring home decor projects of your own? I’d love to hear your fresh ideas! One lucky commenter will win a $10 gift certificate from Silhouette America! Just make sure to leave your comment by Friday, March 22nd at 5 pm MDT.

No spring inspired projects here, but I did go through my hall closet the other day and organize it. My next task is to make labels using my Silhouette once I figure out how to make tags for some of the items.
I don’t have any Spring projects in mind right now, first I have to do some Spring cleaning!
These look so pretty! I did manage to clean my desk and can see making containers such as these for brushes, markers, etc.
hey girl… these are sooo cute!! I just ordered a Cameo….ack, I’ll be able to do this!!!
hugs
These are so pretty! I don’t really have any spring projects in mind, but I do have a wreath and a banner than I made last year to hang up!
I have organized my kitchen drawers and given alot of things away to charity! That is the first step to getting organized! Love what you did with your canisters!
Love the way those canisters are labeled! I may give this a try with some of my crafty things in my art room. It would really be cute.
Love the new look of the canisters and it look so classy too! I don’t have a silhoutte machine but this project is very inspiring!
Hard to think of spring cleaning when it’s in the low 20′s and frost on the yard. Looking forward to Easter to help with warmer thoughts.
No new spring decor here, because we’re moving in a few weeks, but I love this idea for after I get settled at the new house!
I’m working on ideas for spring and this is a good one to use, I’m going to make labels for my craft continers like this. TFS.
i have a silhouette and have YET to get up the courage to cut vinyl!! this tutorial makes it look so easy!
I have started spring cleaning my art space. Thank
you for the labeling technique.
No spring projects for me yet. Thanks for the chance.
I want to label all the extras I have in my sewing room! Thanks!
I’m getting a cameo so enough… or maybe not soon enough!
I so want to do this someday, now just to find the time….lol
This home decor magazine looks awesome!! There are so many things I want to do to my house to make it look better.
Well…I’ve made my list.
I have started going through books to donate. I should have started with an easier job, as it’s always hard for me to give away books, even when it’s for a good cause. Love those old jars. I have 1, but am always searching for more.
Haven’t done any spring decor here yet…we’re supposed to get snow tomorrow!
Cute canisters. I have many of these in my own that I like to personalize.
I haven’t started any spring decor crafts yet. I am currently working on an Easter banner.
I haven’t done any spring decor crafts yet – we’re house hunting and I’m saving decor projects for when we’ve moved in to our new home!
I haven’t started any spring projects yet,
but I’m working on my Easter cards right
now!

I made 2 canvas prints of my dogs. I hung them in my bathroom. They are very springy and cute!
I just bought a bunch of large, nice jars to put rice, flour, etc. in. I am SO going to do that. My spring project: I am making an Easter display for my terrarium. I am maybe going to spring for a Steiff (I don’t know how to spell it) bunny and/or chick. They are expensive, so who knows. But the display will be cute.
I’m preparing a mixed-media wall decor project using an art canvas. I ant wait to finish it!
I’d like to make a spring display for the dining room, but at 19 degrees outside it doesn’t feel enough like spring to begin.
I don’t have any home decor project planned but I do plan to make my Easter cards.

As far as home decor, we’re actually continuing projects that we started last fall…
Now that it’s getting warm again, I need to find some plants to put on our patio in some planters that have been sitting empty. Also, my daughter had created a terrarium for Girl Scouts a while back, and we really need to rework the plants and rocks in there. I’d love to spruce up the outside of her jar with her name and some vinyl fun stuff!
I made a small “Spring” decor piece for our living room. However, I’ve definitely been wanting to label my canisters- I have several I have to open to figure out which one I’m looking for.
Love your nice new labeled canisters. One thing I need to do is get my craft magazines under control. Some plain cardboard magazine holders and some patterned paper and my silhouette made labels should do the trick! I would love to try the trendy chalboard paper technique for the labels.
I’m going to decorate mini-mailboxes for each of the holidays. For Valentine’s Day I decorated one with hearts, flowers, etc. I have one on the kitchen counter right now for St. Pat’s Day. I had to purchase more boxes so I’m going to have one for Easter if they get here soon.
Nothing says SPRING like flowers and leaves, so I have brought in a few pots of greenery indoors, including a tall white lily on the side table. Next on my list is to sew up bright and cheerful cushion covers for the living room.
Thanks for the labels! My pantry is pretty organized, but perhaps I will organize and label all the clutter in my craft room. Then maybe I will create a flower/spring banner.
Don’t really have anything in mind except some spring cleaning
Thanks for the giveaway!
I am thinking of labeling the toy drawers on my kids playroom this will be such a neat way to do it, I wonder what can I use as a sealant so they won’t remove them, any ideas?… I am trying to organize my craft closet

Have a wonderful day!

Yes! I’ve re-organized my craft supplies to fit into my closet. My most used supplies are in an expedit unit and all others are in large shoeboxes above the unit on a wire shelf. I just need to make pretty labels for the front so your tutorial is perfect!
I getting ready to organize my scrapbook supplies for mt spring cleaning, then doing scrapbook pages of the first flowers of spring and Easter celebrations. Thanks for sharing and chance to win.
