It’s always a bittersweet time for all of us here at Paper Crafts magazine when we announce our new Go-to Gals. While we are super excited to get to know the new friends we will be making, it’s always hard to say good-bye to our dear friends who won’t be continuing.
For my part, I will miss Jennifer McGuire, Windy Robinson, and Julie Campbell and the incredible range of talents and skills that they have brought to our team, issue after issue, and year after year. But I know that the friendship that we share will always remain—and seriously, that’s really what it’s all about, isn’t it?
Speaking of friendship, these gals rock my world:
…and I’m super excited that they will be joining us for yet another two-year stint! And not just because they are talented, inspiring, supportive, funny, and the keepers of many of my secrets, but also because they have some serious style. Check it:
Teri can do any style well. From fun and cute to classy and elegant to clean and graphic—even shabby chic—Teri does it all! But one of my favorite things about Teri as a card maker is her ability to put a bunch of elements onto one card, and have it still make some moxie fab sense, like in this card I pulled from her blog:
Kim is also a master of multiple styles, but this card is an example of a look she does incredibly well. She takes fun and cute, clean and graphic, AND classy and elegant and turns it all into one quintessentially Kimmers card:
As far as the newbies are concerned, each brings her own set of mad skills, favorite techniques, and individual styles to the table.
Take Kimberly, for example. There’s never been a technique she hasn’t mastered (or invented), and once again, her blog is filled with cards and paper-crafted projects that illustrate a wide range of styles. Lately I’ve been especially drawn to her cards in which she utilizes a combination of eclectic elements like this one:
In this super fun card, Kimberly has paired a small floral print with a bold chevron and set it all off with a shock of hexagonal yellow which blasts the card into the realm of the truly amazing!
Heather also has a signature style. Whenever I am flipping through the pages of Paper Crafts magazine, I seem to be especially drawn to her projects, which are always sweet, clever, and oh-so-delightful. Take this lovely card:
The colors are super appealing, the design is impeccable, and the sentiment is a perfect match to the tone she has set. Put them all together and you’ve got the makings of something wonderful!
And last but not least, Laura, affectionately know as Laura Looloo, has an incredibly fun approach to paper crafting. This adorable camera card says it all—cool and trendy, sweet and graphic—you can tell that Laura has her finger on the pulse of the moxie fab, and I have been amazed by her work as far back as I can remember!
Whaddayathink? Do our Go-to Gals have some serious style or what? I can’t WAIT to get to know the new Go-to Gals better, and I look ever forward to seeing how our veteran Go-to Gals’ styles continue to grow and evolve!
How about you? Which of these styles inspires you the most and why? Leave me a comment by Monday, April 8th at 5 pm MDT and I’ll draw one random lucky winner to win this sweet springy collection—the Diane collection from SEI—as my thanks for joining in on the conversation.
Smiles for styles,
