As card makers, we sometimes put a lot of pressure on ourselves to send handmade holiday cards when December rolls around. I mean, our family and friends have come to expect it, haven’t they?
I’ve found that the key to not going insane with last minute ideas that never come to fruition is to a) start NOW and b) borrow ideas from talented people.
Enter Holiday Cards & More, Vol. 9.
Each year we gather a vast array of inspiring seasonal cards. They range from silly to serious to sentimental and holy to homey to hilarious. Volume 9 is no different. You’ll find at least 100 ideas to spark your plan for Christmas 2014!
If you’re anything like me, you’re a little obsessed with metallic gold. Put it on a deer and add polka dots and I. Am. In. Love. Veronica Zalis gets a gold star (get it?) for this deliciously festive card.
Maria Fischer created this ethereal scene in non-traditional colors and then added vellum over the top to evoke a snowy world of wonder. And the white sentiment on vellum? Just divine. And oh so inspiring!
This stylish Hanukkah card gets a thumbs up with its glittering flames and serene color choices. Vera Wirianta Yates built the entire scene with three stamps sets, none of which were Hanukkah themed. Now how’s THAT for inspiring?
