This is one of the best ideas I have read in a long time. I couldn't agree with it more. I have been going through chemo and dialysis, and the only thing that gets me through those endless days and nights spent in the hospital is my big bag of card/scrapbooking supplies! And I just craft the days and nights away! I usually make cards for all the seniors at the local nursing home. It's such an amazing feeling when you see a little old lady's eyes light up when you hand her one of the cards that you have made. And its bitter sweet when you realize that just a simple homemade card can make someones day. I started it when my grandmother was in the nursing home, and I would go visit her every day and feed her lunch, it broke my heart to see how many seniors are left to spend the days alone with no family or friends to come and visit them. So I decided to make each one of them a card, and spend a few minutes visiting with each and every one of them so they wouldn't feel so forgotten about. What started out as a one time visit and card, has turned into weekly visits and cards. Even though my grandmother has passed on, I still make my weekly visits! Creativity does heal!

I am a card maker for many years now and it helps me get through the tough days with chronic pain. i am very thankful for the card making program your magazine has decided to do for the troops. my son is deployed to the mountains in @&^*$% (secret location understandably) The troops do need encouragement. Thank you.

Thank you for the wonderful magazine also. Love the quality of the card designs. Keep up the good work. I appreciate all you do.

I am disabled from Behcets which is a rare autoimmune disorder of the blood vessels that has no cure. Scrapbooking has been very therapeutic too me especially during the times when the pain will not let me sleep. And I love being able to leave "My story" for my boys. I donate cards to Operation Write Home and to the local Domestic Violence program. http://visionsofpaper.blogspot.com/

18 months ago I made 350 cards for our troops...Wow was that a big job, but will worth it. I have a daughter in the military and she mentioned the cards are greatly appreciated by the troops.

I'm a card maker for Operation Write Home and have made close to 8,000 cards since I started. It's a great organization that welcomes crafters across all skill levels. Thanks to Papercrafts Magazine for supporting OWH!
